Madison County Fair 2019
I’ll update each evening….or the next morning…with photos from each day. You can click on any of the photos to go to the galleries. Galleries will be divided by day.
A few photos and a video. These were all taken around 3:45pm. The Robinson River was MUCH higher earlier in the day, over the bridge on Beahm Town Road, which is VERY VERY rare. This is the only time I’ve actually seen it over that bridge.
Click on an image to see it larger.
And…..they’re all online. Click any of the photos below to see the galleries. Since there were so many Cloverbud photos, I’ve given them their own gallery so they’ll be easier to find, and the rest of the photos from Saturday are in a separate gallery. Click any photo below to get the gallery index.
Photos from Friday are now in the gallery, mostly Draft Horse Pull and the Livestock Show. Click any photo below to see the galleries.
Photos from July 14, Thursday, are now online. Note that because there are so many photos, they show up as several “pages” in the galleries. You’ll need to click on the arrow at the top to get to the next page.
A few from Thursday. You can click any photo to get to the galleries.
I’ll be adding photos all week. Galleries will be separated by day. Hopefully that will make it easier to find what you’re looking for. You can click any of the photos below to get to the gallery index.
Ben and Jerry and the cows have been a little bit upset with me because they don’t have their own gallery. Well, here it is. Hopefully they’ll be happier now. Click on any of the photos below to see the full gallery. They’d also love it if you bought one of their portraits so that they could stare at you from you wall. 🙂
This is the first time I’ve been to that much of Fair week. I was asked to cover it for the Eagle this time, so you should be seeing photos in there this week. I spent a lot of time out there and really enjoyed. I know I missed a lot of things, but I got to everything I could. Here are a few favorites. You can click on any of the photos below to see the entire gallery from the week.
You can click any of the photos below to see the gallery from last night’s Madison Fireman’s Parade. I’m also covering the Madison County Fair this week for the Eagle, but I think I’ll wait until it’s over to post those photos rather than make new posts each day. I will be sharing a few from the Fair on Instagram and Facebook, so you can follow along there if you like.
I shot a few photos of the Christmas wreathes on Main St last Friday evening, first night that they were lit up. More will come next week with the lighting of more trees along Main St., as well as the lighting of a big tree in front of the War Memorial Building. More on that on the Madison Chamber of Commerce webpage. A few photos are below. You can click on any of the photos below to see a gallery of more Main St photos….and order prints or cards if you like 🙂
Never thought I’d be able to spell Sesquicentennial without looking it up 🙂
Anyway, I’ve created a DVD for the Madison Historical Society as a record of the 150th Anniversary Commemoration. The DVD includes video that I shot during the day, as well as a slideshow of still photos were taken by Patricia Temples and I. Copies will HOPEFULLY be available this coming Saturday, November 23, at the Madison Farmer’s Market/Craft Show at the Madison Fire Hall. Cost will be $20 per set, with proceeds going to the Madison Historical Society. And the set also includes a DVD with all four of the Jack’s Shop Lectures that were held prior to the Commemoration day. So, stop by and pick up your copy 🙂
Here are a few more photos from the Commemoration day. All taken and processed with my iPhone. There will be an online gallery at some point where you can buy copies of all the photos we shot that day. We’re still working out the details of that, I’ll update with a link when it’s available.
Oh what fun! Those two hours went by like 2 minutes! You can click either of the photos below to go to the gallery. I’ve separated the “Formal” photos, and the “Candid” photos. Thanks to Jennifer Campbell for taking some of the candids. She got some great photos! I was swamped taking the formals, but I just had a blast with the kids! 🙂
If you were there, you should have gotten the password to the gallery. (Note: the letters in the password are all lower case). I WILL NOT give out the password. Contact another parent or the school if you don’t have it.
For any size print that you order, until March 1, I will also send you a FREE Facebook sized digital image of that photo. You’re welcome to share it on Facebook, or any social media, keep it on your phone, send it to grandparents, etc. However, it will be too small to print well, so if you try to print it, and it looks bad, no complaining! 😉
You might have seen most of these either on my Instagram feed or on Facebook. There are a few new ones in there. The Press Box at Eddie Dean Field was demolished by Weaver Works, and the old bleachers removed.
The Madison Flooring Company was started in 1946 by my father and a few partners. Our family bought out the partners in the early 70’s. I started working there in the summers when I was 14 years old, and continued the summer time employment all the way through college. My brother and I ended up running the place after we got out of college and continued there until we finally sold the place to Mountain Lumber Company several years ago. They have now moved all of their operations back to Ruckersville due to the economy, and the land and buildings are up for sale. I stopped by and took a few photos one day a couple of weeks ago.
