I had a few minutes to kill last week so I stopped by the former Mountain Lumber Co. Madison facility…..previously the Madison Flooring Co., and took a few photos. I seem to be attracted to places that are getting “reclaimed” by nature. Here are a few of the photos…..
A little something different than the typical T&I (team and individual). And since this was a bit closer to a portrait shoot rather than strictly sports, I’ll post here also.
Normally there’s this big rush to get all the individuals and teams photographed so they have time to warm up before their games….shoot four teams in 45 minutes or so….etc. This was better 
We took our time, did some different poses/looks for each of the kids, and same for team pictures. GREAT group of kids to work with!!!! (click the photo below to see the gallery) I did the collage below so I’d have an image to post rather than try to pick a favorite image…..and I think this collage is my favorite…..

Some geese flying north….south….they seemed to be as confused as we are about what the weather’s going to be.

You’re welcome to share it on Facebook, or any social media, keep it on your phone, send it to grandparents, etc. However, it will be too small to print well, so if you try to print it, and it looks bad, no complaining! 😉
You might have seen most of these either on my Instagram feed or on Facebook. There are a few new ones in there. The Press Box at Eddie Dean Field was demolished by Weaver Works, and the old bleachers removed.
Okay, going back to this for a while…maybe longer…
I realized that I’ve missed the “recap” of what I did the past week. Quite a few sports events were snowed out last week, so a few more landscapes than normal, at least for this time of year.
It’s been a while since I’ve updated. Sorry about that. These are from a walk in the woods a few weeks ago. Exposed for the highlights rather than letting the camera meter just average everything out…..and blow out the highlights.
Just one photo in this post, but I think this one can stand on its own. It was taken at the end of the girl’s cross country race yesterday as one of the last girls came through. I shot three frames, but liked this one best because you can see her pony tail 🙂 It was cloudy for most of the meet, but the sun would poke through from time to time, projecting those cool light beams. For me, the photo is SO much more interesting because of the runner, no matter how small she is in the frame.
Yes, it must be Homecoming in Madison County. We did our usual unusual Homecoming photos before MCHS’ 2012 Homecoming Dance on Saturday night. There happened to be two John Deere tractors with Bush Hogs attached in one of our fields. We moved in another John Deere that was close by, and our tractor with bush hog so that everyone had their own 🙂

And I guess the next couple are almost “normal”…..

These first ones are tiny! I never would have seen them had I not been laying on the ground trying to shoot the mushroom in the second picture. The smallest ones are barely larger than the head of a pin!
